Hannah made a bouquet for Erin & Eric at a Valentine’s pop-up back when they were dating, and it was so much fun to reconnect through florals for their October 2018 wedding at Duke Gardens. These two are just the coolest – we’re so glad we could be part of their day not only to play with the most fun mix of local & tropical florals, but also to get to know them better. Erin & Eric have a stellar sense of style and appreciation for authenticity and quality in all things, so the details of their day were very thoughtfully orchestrated. They were married by the Koi Pond and held the reception under a clear tent that opened up beautifully to the night sky with lots of market lights, a bubble chandelier, and a subtle canopy of vining greenery that carried the magic of the garden into the tent. Complementing the rich combination of native perennials and tropical plants that fill Duke Gardens, the bouquets featured juicy-hued local dahlias and cosmos alongside anthurium, sago palm, and banksia; foraged golden rain tree pods lent the gilded touch of autumn along with heuchera from our garden. Scabiosa added a nice dark pop and ties into the couple’s history — they remember loving & buying a bunch of Scabiosa at a farmer’s market early in their relationship. It’s really special when we can get a feeling for a couple’s unique story and personality, and bring that to life through florals. With Erin & Eric, it was such a fun journey. Thanks you two — we’re so glad to know you!
P.S. these flower girls…. are the CUTEST.
