Seeing Megha and Luke’s joyous wedding day come to life in November 2018 at Merrimon Wynne was incredibly special. Since our initial meeting with Megha, we were touched by the story of her mother traveling to India to gather the gowns that were being custom made for her to wear, and by Luke’s plans to wear traditional Indian attire for the ceremony in honor of Megha’s family. It is always fascinating and inspiring to learn about how different families – especially those with ancestral roots in different parts of the world – celebrate love and marriage. We have been moved by the traditions we have observed from Indian families like Megha’s, who approach every detail with such sincerity, and uplift the couple with such conviviality and commitment to ritual. We were giddy on Megha and Luke’s wedding day to see the bouquets we made alongside the stunning, intricate gowns — all vivid with color and dazzling in their details. We also had great fun flowering our first Mandap ( the arbor-like structure used for Hindu wedding ceremonies). To capture the rich color of Megha’s gown, we used flowers including ‘Darcey’ garden roses, ‘Cappuccino’ roses, chocolate cosmos, ‘Merletto Crimson’ carnations, red ranunculus, and ‘Raspberry Scoop’ scabiosa. Megha and Luke are a gorgeous and kind couple, and it lifts our spirits to see couples like them surrounded by such beauty as they speak their vows. We love how these images taken by The Family Films capture the details — from the henna, to the incredible attire, to the flowers — just as they capture the true and honest love.
