Priscilla and Ryan celebrated their marriage on September 5, 2021 at The Cloth Mill in Hillsborough, NC.  Every year, we cross our fingers for an autumn bride who will embrace color and give us a chance to scoop up locally grown dahlias by the armful.  In 2021, Priscilla was that bride, and we are grateful!  In addition to loving fall hues and dahlias, Priscilla was excited to incorporate deep wine tones and a hint of light blue to complement the navy maids’ gowns.  In addition to dahlias, we used celosia, lisianthus, amaranth, copper beech, jewels of Opar, tweedia, chocolate cosmos, roses, millet, carnations and eucalyptus. Alongside guests dressed up in autumn frocks, the flowers brought such lighthearted life and personality.  It was joyfully lovely day, planned impeccably by Amanda Blair by Design.

For the ceremony, we draped the venue’s existing pergola structure in gauzy white fabric and smilax vines. Two large floral urns tied color and texture into the ceremony design, accompanied by sleek metal lanterns.  Taking a more minimalist approach in the dining room, we placed a mix of greenery and candles on the tables, and designed textural terra cotta compote arrangements that captured autumn’s magic without utilizing any flowers.  For romantic impact, Priscilla and Ryan’s sweetheart table was adorned with a lush burst of richly-hued blooms, facing their jovial guests in a candlelit glow.

Priscilla and Ryan’s original wedding date was in 2020, and we know it wasn’t easy for them to postpone by a whole year to wait for a safe time to celebrate with their loved ones.  They took the delay in stride with grace, and we are grateful for their flexibility as we navigated the complications of flower sourcing in the pandemic era.  Wylde is lucky to work with such fantastic clients. Thank you and cheers to this beautiful couple, Priscilla and Ryan!
